This team might just be ok after all…

You know what? I really like this team!

Brian Gionta is better than Alex Kovalev.

Scott Gomez is better than Saku Koivu.

Mike Cammalleri is better than Alex Tanguay.

Hal Gill is better than Patrice Brisebois.

Paul Mara is better than Francis Bouillon.

And this Canadiens team is better than last year’s Canadiens team.
Don’t get me wrong, I love all the former players mentioned above (not you Chris Higgins!), but that’s just my opinion, and I know lots, so trust me.

In a league where, on any given night, any team can beat any team, your Habs did just enough to come out with a victory.

The powerplay seems to be clicking, and the team has a system and an identity, something which was severely lacking last year.

This team battles and wins hockey games, and the coach has managed to turn players who barely played with each other into one team.

This group of guys is still gona have tough nights, but you can bet that they won’t pack it in like last year’s team did so many times.

So for now, let’s ride this winning streak into Pittsburgh to face the birds. Fucken polar birds.

There’s life to this team

I’ve been away lately, and I apologize…if you’re reading this.

I just have one thing to say:

MIKE CAMMALLERI IS FUCKEN AWESOME!

Game-Day Bonanza : Habs - Thrashers

Meh. Let’s just get a win and cut the crap.

Let’s look at both teams:

Our year so far: Shitty. We make the New York Mets look good.

Their year so far: Not shitty. A thrasher’s a bird. Thank you Google!

Good guy updates: Jaro gets the start in nets, giving Carey some time to think about that ridiculous new mask. Ok no it’s pretty bad-ass. Marc Andre Bergeron has been called up to help revitalize a powerplay that has been as ineffective as Jodie Foster’s attempts to convince people she’s straight.

Enemy updates: Kovalchuk is good.

Soft spot for the enemy: They used to have Marian Hossa.

Who will probably score for us: Marc Andre Bergeron.

Who will probably score on us: Kovalchuk. or White. or Black. Stop being racist.

Who will definitely not score for us: Guillaume Latendresse.

Who will definitely not score on us: I don’t know. Anybody can score on us right now.

Get well soon: OhBurn! and Marky Mark! We miss you already!

Prediction: I don’t even care, let’s just give ‘em a game and try to get a point at least.

It’s gona be a-okay

Yeah, I know we’re 2-4 right now. The Canadiens from 08/09 were 5-0-1 after 6 games last year, but you know what? I kinda like this year’s team better.

This year’s team battles. This year’s team doesn’t lay back. This year’s team makes it exciting till the last second. This year’s team played well yesterday.

If it wasn’t for 2 lucky bounces and referees as competent as Perez Hilton at a Mardi Gras party, things would have been different.

Don’t blame Carey, he played well and luck wasn’t on his side. The winner, which was scored on a play where Cody McLeod tried to remove Scott Gomez’s head, should never have happened. But alas, enough blaming the officiating.

Tomas Plekanec is a man reborn, and if Andrei Kostitsyn’s play last night is an indication of things to come, then low and behold we might just have TWO scoring lines!

Shawn Belle didn’t look out of place, but he commited a rookie mistake when he was badly out of position on the 3rd period Colorado winner. Along with Paul Mara though, they formed a very good pairing.

Roman Hamrlik looked like Andrei Markov with his goal, pinching at the perfect time off a beautiful feed from TurtlePleks. May it continue.

Cammamama is trying so hard, and he leads the team in shots, but he still hasn’t been able to score a goal. It’ll come though. You keep working hard, good things’ll happen.

That’s what I like about this team, no matter what, they’re working hard. (You bring up the Vancouver debacle, I pee on your car).

Give ‘em some time.

Game-Day Bonanza : Habs - Avalanche

Oh yeah, home opener. That’s right. After 5 games on the road, we get 6 at home. Like that’s any better. If the team isn’t kicking ass, the fans will be on their asses like a beautiful ass on Shakira.

Let’s look at both teams:
Our year so far: The western road trip sucked. So bad. Forget it.

Their year so farAvs lead the West? You heard right.

Good guy updates: Carey’s in nets probably. Moen’s on the first line as a big FUCK YOU YOU FUCKEN FUCK to Tender Gender. Cammamama with TurtlePleks and AK46.

Enemy updates: Um, Craig Anderson’s hot? Wolski too.

Soft spot for the enemy: Joe Sakic. oh wait…

Who will probably score for us: Shawn Belle!!!

Who will probably score on us: I don’t know. Honestly. My internet’s driving me nuts. I just wana get this over with and watch the mean kitty song on youtube.

Who will definitely not score for us: Shawn Belle!!!

Who will definitely not score on us: SHAWN FUCKEN BELLE!!!

Get well soon: OhBurn! and Marky Mark! We miss you already!

Prediction: Habs 19-3 Avalanche.

Bye Yanni

Yannick Weber was sent down to the AHL affiliate, y’all.

Yeah, in 3 games he was a -3 and recorded no points. He was caught out of position on more than one occasion and just was generally shit. He’s good, just not NHL good…yet.

This also probably means that MAB is about to get called up ahead of the home opener VS the light snowfall on Thursday. Should be fun! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Things I noticed

And they’re pretty big things, since I’m not a very good noticer.

-Max Pacioretty is not ready for the NHL

-Maxim Lapierre, Guillaume Latendresse and Travis Moen are a great 4th line. Too bad they’re our 3rd line.

-If we can’t generate secondary scoring, we’re gona have trouble winning hockey games this year.

-Yannick Weber gets caught out of position more than Kanye West at a Bingo game.

-Georges Laraque had more time on ice yesterday than Andrei Kostitsyn.

-For the 1067th time, Andrei Kostitsyn was drafted ahead of Ryan Getzlaf, Jeff Carter, Corey Perry and Zach Parise.

-The team REALLY misses Andrei Markov. I’m really sad.

-Carey Price should have to take a lie detector test to know whether or not he inflicted that injury on purpose. Just to be on the safe side…

-Home opener’s gona be fun.

Shush

Ummm, did the Habs play last night?

Game-Day Bonanza : Habs - Flames

Western road trip. Man, doesn’t that sound lovely. Not really. Remember last year? We conceded something like 37 goals and scored 2. Our team was falling apart. Carey was helpess. Everything was bad. Hopefully this year things’ll be better.

Let’s look at both teams:
Our year so far: 2 wins. Duh!

Their year so farJust like us, they are also 2-0-0. They have been winning games while being heavily outshot. Sound familiar?

Good guy updates: Carey’s so hot right now, they’re using him to bake shrimp. Gionta, Cammalleri, TurtlePleks, Gorges, Moen and Metroman all have 2 points each.

Enemy updates: Rene Bourque is leading scorer. Dion Phaneuf is still a cunt.

Soft spot for the enemy: Bouwmeester?

Who will probably score for us: Matt D’Agostini. He likes scoring against the Flames. MAYBE CAUSE HE’S A FLAMER!!…

sorry, that was completely uncalled for. I apologize.

Who will probably score on us: Nigel Dawes. He just looks like a badass.

Who will definitely not score for us: Alex Kovalev.

Who will definitely not score on us: Dion Phaneuf. I’m really happy for you, I’ma let you finish, but Sean Avery had one of the best comments of all time!

Get well soon: OhBurn! and Marky Mark! We miss you already!

Prediction: A horse to come out onto the ice and request to play the lead role in Disney’s “Spirit 2: The horses return!”.

JESUS, CAREY!

He’s finally coming into his own. Too early to talk? I don’t know, but so far so excellent.

Take the 4 points and scram.

Our boys are dropping like Wal Mart prices though. Disco Inferno and Metroman both left the game early yesterday. At least the team doc is getting his overtime.

Hammatime and Spacek played really well. Gionta has the hand-eye coordination of a seasoned whack-a-mole veteran. Travis Moen is amazingly awesome.

Your Habs are 2-0. But have been outshot 1087 to 25 in 2 games. Let’s make this better.
