Boooohooooo
You know what? I’m starting to get sick of this shit.
As I’m sure most of you have heard by now, Sidney Crosby will not be playing in this weekend’s All-Star game. The Birds’ captain is suffering from an ‘upper-body injury’, and it won’t be the first time he’s missing out.
Almost two million people voted for him to start the game – people who pay his salary. Without the fans’ support, the NHL would be like… the WNBA or something. Although Sid the Kid gets my respect for planning to show up to the weekend.
Oh yeah, Milan Lucic also can’t make it, ’cause he’s scared of playing in Montreal. Detroit’s Pavlov Datsyuk and Nick Lidstrom have also gotten a leave of absence, apparently because of injuries as well. At least fucken show up, assholes.
Which begs the question, should the NHL start imposing fines on those who skip out on the event just ’cause they don’t feel like going to the game but prefer laying on a beach and enjoying margaritas served by a guy named Little Tony?
It seems they can come up with any excuse not to attend now, and it’s not fair to the fans who, once again, pay these players’ salaries.
