People keep stating that the format is flawed and that players don’t care about the game, but please, shut the fuck up. Yeah, it’s not perfect, but enjoy the game in its current format and accept it for what it is – a celebration of the players’ talents. Enough nonsense.
Honestly, there was no better place to have this game than here, in sexy Montreal. HOW THE FUCK DO JONATHAN TOEWS AND DAN BOYLE SPEAK PERFECT FRENCH!? WHAT THE FUCK!
But yeah, the game was actually pretty good. Usually it’s kind of anticlimactic in a sense, but last night they really went all out.
Carey let in two bad goals and he should be sent down to Hamilton. Like, what the fuck was he doing?!
It was fun switching between CBC and RDS for the game. Probably my favorite part of the night: when Kovy went on the breakaway for his second goal, Elliot Friedman was interviewing Price (who was on the bench at that point), and Friedman went: “Quick! What’s Kovalev gona do?” and Price goes: “Backhand, Shelf”. And that’s exactly what Kovy did. And I had a huge smile on my face and a huge boner on my back.

Markov scored a goal from a very nice Alex Ovechkin pass. Speaking of Ovechkin, what a goal he scored! Fuck that Marc Savard can see the game well. I hate him.
Tim Thomas also made a sick save in O.T, robbing my boy Iginla of a sure goal. Wish Lecavalier would have scored, but he was +4, so that’s good I guess.
Like Price said: “This game was made for Kovy”. Couldn’t have put it better. The guy loves to be the center of attention, and he made sure he was last night. His Player of the Game award and truck were fully deserved, although it would have been nice to give it to someone who can’t afford it. EHEM! EHEM!
The overtime period came and number 44 on the ice, number 1 in your hearts Mike Komisarek got a penalty. Such a Komi move. It was terrific. He wasn’t the only one to get noticed, Markov scored a goal and looked very solid.
Oh yeah, Bob? Go get Bouwmeester. DO IT! He’s getting 4.875 in Florida and he goes UFA at the end of this season. Give him 3 years, 5.65 per. Slightly more than Hamrlik, slightly less than Markov.
I giggled my cute little tits off when Pierre Houde asked Carbo who he’s going to send in the shootout and Guy said “I don’t know. We’re trying to find 3 good players but it’s hard”. Man, he’s such a funny guuuuuuy!
All in all, a game that I would say surpassed expectations. A fitting end to a great weekend organized by the true hockey city. Shouldn’t they have it here every year!?
