Game-day Bonanza : Habs – Devils

I’ve come to the conclusion that New York has too many teams. I know the Devils aren’t in New York, but they’re so close you can walk there. Devils, Sabres, Islanders, Rangers. What the fuck! And people wonder why the NHL has trouble filling arenas. Pound their asses tonight man.

Let’s look at both teams:
Our year so far: We actually have a mini winning streak going on here. 3 on the trot. I jinxed it. I’m sorry. FUCK

Their year so farHe-who-we-don’t-speak-of isn’t playing! HA-HA! We rock, you guys suck. Ok, let’s all be mature here. Devils have actually held their own without He-who-we-don’t-speak-of. Winners of 6 of their last 7 or something like that. As of today, they sit 7th in the Conference. They are, along with Chicago, the two teams who have played the least amount of games in the League. Yes, everyone absolutely had to know that.

Good guy updates: 3rd game in a row with the same lines!? Say it ain’t so. Carey gets the start again, only to see what kind of celebration they’ll pull off if we win this one.

Enemy updates: Parise, Elias, Gionta…yada yada yada. Nothing new there. Scott Clemensen has emerged as the team’s new number 1 since He-who-we-don’t-speak-of has been injured. Poor Kevin Weekes! Guy even has his own website!

Soft spot for the enemy: Paul Martin. To go from the prime minister of Canada to a 4th defenseman on an average New Jersey Devils team…talk about a career gone bad.

Who will probably score for us: Andrei Kostitsyn will score again!? I hope so man! Andrei’s so sexy when he skates full-speed at unsuspecting defenseman who have no clue what to do to stop the impending balding sensation from scoring.

Who will probably score on us: Parise.

Who will definitely not score for us: Georges Laraque.

Who will definitely not score on us: Martin Brodeur. lol

Prediction: Chris Higgins said it best: “They’re the four most boring games of the year. Every time we play Jersey, we know we have to be patient and not force anything”. Work hard gentlemen. Habs to come away with a 5-2 victory. I don’t know. I just have these visions!

With the team we have, of course we should be losing to the New Jersey Devils…especially with Scott Clemmensen in nets.
