Game-day Bonanza : Habs – Hurricanes
The Carolina Breezes will try to take a winning record back home when they conclude their longest road-trip of the season tonight at the Bell Centre.
Let’s look at both teams:
Our year so far: The amazing Habs have a nearly perfect record so far in this centennial year. Guy Carbonneau’s men have only lost in regulation once, and that despite firing an incredible 51 shots on Saturday night at Jean Sebastien Giguere’s net.
Their year so far: Carolina are atop the Southeast division with 9 points from 7 games. They’re coming off a win against Mark Streit and the Islanders, where Cam Ward got raped by shots, facing 60 and only allowing 3 goals.
Good guy updates: Andrei Kostitsyn is recovered and word is he’ll play tonigh, reuniting with Awesome and Pleks. If Kostitsyn is available, it’ll be the first time this season Carbo will have a full line-up to choose from. Brisebois is in the pressbox.
Enemy updates: Eric Staal leads all ‘Canes with 6 points from 7 games. Too many of ‘em are injured, including our good friend Justin Williams (out 4-6 months…karma mofo!), Joni Pitkanen, Brandon Sutter, Scott Walker and Frantisek Kaberle.
Soft spot for the enemy: Not one.
Who will probably score for us: Chris Higgins, Alex Tanguay, Saku Koivu and Alex Kovalev.
Who will probably score on us: Well, since Erik Cole isn’t there anymore…Brind’amour always seems to do well against Montreal.
Who will definitely not score for us: Guillaume Latendresse…wake up!
Who will definitely not score on us:: Sergei Samsonov.
Prediction: Carolina always seem to win here, but not tonight. Plekanec’s line is gona have a big night, and we’re gona beat them 6-3.
