Game-day Bonanza : Habs – Islanders

I promise, I’ll try to go through this whole post without even mentiong Mark Streit. It might be hard though. We’ll just call him…”The Unspoken one”, instead of putting the words Mark and Streit together. So yeah, Uniondale! WOO!

Let’s look at both teams:
Our year so far: The expectations were always going to be enormous for the Canadiens coming into their centennial season, but they were made even higher by last season’s impressive finish as 1st in the East. The team hasn’t disappointed, because barring a loss against the Quack-Quacks in regulation last weekend, we have been on a roll.

Their year so far: The New York Islanders haven’t been setting any records as of late. Actually, perhaps they broke the record for SUCKIEST TEAM IN THE WORLD! BOO YA! They have the 28th best power play in the league, or the 3rd worst power play in the league.

Good guy updates: Carbs will probably stick to the same lineup he used in Minnesota, but will hope his team avoid acquainting themselves with the penalty box so…warmly.

Enemy updates: Doug Weight has a huge weight on his shoulder this season (HAHA! BET YOU DIDN’T SEE THAT ONE COMING), and leads all Isles with 9 points from 8 games. Tied with him is The Unspoken one. Oh yeah, remember Yann Danis? He gets the start in nets tonight. DiPietro is injured.

Soft spot for the enemy: Eh, The Unspoken one. What can I say? He’s a pretty good player you know. And going from first in the East to suckiest in the East can’t be too good for da morale.

Who will probably score for us: Yale always does well in his homeland, so I expect him to get one tonight. Tongue is so hot right now, he’s really not helping with global warming. Dirty Harry has to get out of his funk too, and is there a better place to do it than against the Islanders?

Who will probably score on us: The Unspoken one.

Who will definitely not score for us: “Calling Tomas Plekanec. Tomas Plekanec, please report to team duty. Mr. Plekanec, please reoprt to team duty!”.

Who will definitely not score on us: Richard Park. lol

Prediction: Any team can beat any team in this league on any given night, but if the Habs show up, it should be pretty straight-forward. I predict a….4-1 win! WOOOOO!!!!!
