This Bear is ugly

You know, you could kinda feel it coming. When halfway through the overtime period, B’s fans start chanting: “We want it! We want it!”.

You really have to be more specific. You want an early round at the golf course? YOU GOT IT!

Oh yeah, Ducks are out too. That Darren Helm’s got some speed on him. Almost went to OT, but naaah, Wings are Wings.

Collapse

FUCK YOU HURRICANES! YOU HAVE A FUCKEN 3-1 LEAD, BUT NOOOOOO, YOU DECIDE TO FUCK AROUND AND LET THEM TIE IT AT 3!

YOU BETTER FUCKEN FINISH THEM TONIGHT, OR I WILL PERSONALLY GO TO MYRTLE BEACH AND TAKE A CRAP ON THE TOURISTS THERE, JUST SO I CAN HARM YOUR TOURISM INDUSTRY! THEY’LL BE LIKE “No, we can’t go to Myrtle Beach, there’s a guy that takes craps on tourists’ chests there”. HA! BOOK IT, FUCKERS!

Oh yeah, what the hell happened to you Canucks? 3 minutes away from a 3-1 series lead, and then you collapse? Ahhh Roberto, I thought you were the all savior they needed? Apparently not. Patrick Kane raped you all and the Hawks are so exciting.

No Canadian team will win the Cup yet again, it’ll still probably be an American team.

The name’s Subban, PK Subban

If you guys haven’t heard, Bob Gainey yesterday signed PK Subban to a 3 year entry level contract. Oh, and Andre Benoit also put pen to paper.

Subban’s contract is the more important for 2 reasons: I know who he is and if he hadn’t been signed by June 1st, he would have been eligible to go back in the draft. STAY AWAY LEECHES!

I’m excited by this. He’ll probably start next season in Hamilton and be awesome there and then get a couple of games here and there with the big boys…except Bouillon, he’s not that big. He’s like what? 5’9? Yeah, not big.

Subban just seems like an all around nice guy and a good team guy, so I am definitely looking forward to training camp. You guys watch him at the Worlds? He’s got blazing speed, amazing offensive capability and he’s defensively sound. Just give him 3 years and the kid will be out of this world, bet your ’89 Tercel on that.

SANDWICH TIME! Philadelphia is calling my name

Man, it’s getting hot

Um, Carolina taking the Bruins to school? Who would have thought? You mean they were overhyped and overrated? WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT!? YOU MEAN I CAN’T WEAR MY NIGHTGOWN EVEN THOUGH I’M A GUY?….sorry, I’m weird on weekends.

I just don’t see a way back for Boston in the series. Cam Ward is outgoaling Timmy Tommy and Carolina is a faster team.

Eric Staal is taking over that series, and there ain’t a thing they can do to stop him…yet. Sergei Samsonov = FUCK YOU SERGEI SAMSONOV!

Canes took a chance on the less good (?) Jokinen and it’s paying off. Three more points last night and the dude’s hot.

Washington and Pittsburgh is heating up, series now tied at 2 apiece. Ovechkin took out Gonchar and will not get banned. In his defense, it did look like he was going for a shoulder check before Gonchar was like: “Nuh uh! This ain’t Russia dawg, I’m outta here!”. Yes, that’s exactly how Sergei Gonchar speaks. Don’t judge.

More to play I’m sure.

Oh yeah, have you guys been following our 2nd/3rd tier Canada men’s team in the Worlds? So many good players missing, so much ass kicking still accomplished. Russia on Sunday, should be good. Support the boyzzz.

Do you really want this man to coach Maxim Lapierre? It’s like, a really really bad nightmare where you wake up and you see a really weird guy standing at the edge of your bed with a sledge hammer and a pound of sweet potatoes, so you’d rather go back to the nightmare.

My Crystal Ball of Truth : The Semi-finals

Vancouer Canucks/Chicago Blackhawks:

Yada yada yada, you know the story. Yeah, Canucks won last night, but barely. They raced off to a 3-0 lead led by the incomparable 4’1 Kyle Wellwood but then the Hawks got ‘em back only for Vancouver to retake the lead with a bit more than a minute to go. I wasn’t able to watch it, I was getting drunk downtown. I did have some Vodka though, MMM MMMM MMMMMMMM! SO so good! But yeah, Vancouver will live and die with Roberto Luongo. Their D isn’t a dominant one, so Lulu Luongo will have to be amazing throughout for them to have a chance, but so far so good. Can they knock out the Hawks and the Bulin Wall? Hmm, I think so. Two great goaltenders are going at it. But believe it or not, I think the Hawks are takin this one. Hawks in 6.

Detroit Red Wings/Anaheim Ducks:

Ahh, don’t you love those Duckie Ducks? Not only can you take a bath with them and they won’t make fun of the color of your feet, but they taste delicious! I’m kidding, I don’t know what they taste like…OR DO I!!??! Yeah, Detroit is really scary this time of year. I know I picked Columbus to take ‘em, but hey, I was wrong. Sue me. If Anaheim’s big boys can get in Osgood’s face early on in the series, they have a chance. But I just don’t see Detroit losing this series, although I do predict that the Ducks will beat them up so bad that they’ll have lots of trouble in the Conference Semis. Wings in 7.

Pittsburgh Penguins/Washington Capitals:

The great 8 loves beating the Sid, but I don’t know man. Can Varlamov really stop the firepower the Penguins have? Facing Drury, Gomez, Antropov and company is a lot different than facing Malkin, Crosby, Staal and Kunitz. CAAAAAAAAAAAN HEEEEEEEEEEEEEE DOOOOOOO IT? I don’t think so. I just think that the Penguins are a lot deeper than the Capitals at this point. hehe, I said deep. I think Fleury will outgoalie Varlamov and Ovechkin will make it close, but not close enough. Penguins in 7.

Boston Buins/Carolina Hurricanes:

WHO GIVES A SHIT!

Ahhh, nostalgia

Ohhhh Marty, how art thou commit such fraudulence as to allow the Staal, Eric to celebrate thou game winner with merely 31 seconds left until the beginning of the end.

Yup, Martin Brodeur let in 2 late goals to allow the Whalers to beat the Devils. The Devils were leading 3-2 with less than 2 minutes to go, and here I was, thinking, just like every other half-functional completely sexy human adult male: “Devils have this. No way Raleigh can score 2 against this airtight as my first girlfriend’s butt NJ D!”.

But low and behold, I was wrong again. Not only was the D looser than my gf, but Marty let in two…questionable ones to allow a team with Sergei Samsonov to advance to the second round.

Ahhh, thy sports never cease to amaze me. Never ever ever ever.

Oh yeah, other game. Last night was sick. Two game 7′s. Two dramatic finishes. My favorite part? SERGEI FUCKEN FEDOROV SCORING THE WINNER!

How famous and experienced is Sergei Fedorov? EVEN MY GIRLFRIEND KNOWS WHO HE IS! Yup, she was like: “Oh, Fedorov! I’d eat his Cheerios if you know what I mean!”. Yeah…it was really weird.

Avery battled and showed that he can be a cunt of an effective player when he stops the dumb shit and focuses on pucks and ice. But Like I said, the Caps had too much firepower for a struggling Rags squad.

Hey, they took it to 7 games, AND THAT’S MORE THAN ANOTHER TEAM CAN SAY!

Who do you hate the least?

There’s actually some other games still going on…

Let’s see. Have you guys been watching the pond fight? Sharks live to breathe another day by barely beating the Ducks, but face elimination again tonight.

Thornton and Marleau somewhat showed up to hand their team the win, but the Sharks so far have just looked too fragile for the playoffs.

The Ducks know what it takes to win and they’re doing it. And Hiller is doing amazing. JS Giguere is mad.

Hawks and Flames has been a weird series. The only given is that if you’re playing at home, you’ll win. So judging by that, the Hawks have this one in 7 games. Hawks haven’t won shit in really really long, and I don’t hate them much, so I’d be ok with them winning it…I guess.

Oh yeah! Devils-Canes. It’s good. Staal forced a 7th game last night, and the goalies have been amazing in this showdown. I still think the Devils will take it in Jersey though.

Last but not least, the series between Washington and New York is one of the most one-sided that’s going to 7 games that I’ve ever seen. Lundqvist stole 2 games in Washington and the Rangers still have a chance.

But again, I think the Caps just have too much for the Rags to handle. We’ll see though. Theodore might make them lose, even though he’s on the bench.

Ahhh, Habs

Is it October yet?

Man, this really sucks

Hey, what can you do? We lost. DUH!

Yeah, you can scroll down to all the stuff I was saying about this Habs team being able to knock out this Bruins team. And yes, if the series restarted tomorrow, I would once again bet on the Habs prevailing. There’s a funny thing that happens when you become a die-hard fan of a team.

Yes, the Bruins have a good defense, a great attack and a better than average goalie, but they’re not the all-conquering ass-kicking world force people are making them out to be.

When you get that many injuries and no-shows, you’re asking for trouble. And that’s what happened. That, and we faced a well-coached, well-balanced team that had 100 times more confidence in their abilities than we did. But again, if our scorers had showed up, our D played a better game and our goaltender made the saves he had to, we could have pushed this series. Did you not see the second to last game of the season along with games 1 and 3?

I think one quote perfectly sums up what was wrong with the team this season. When Tomas Plekanec was asked about being called up by the Czech Republic, he said he “was surprised and didn’t know what he could offer the team”. PLEKS! YOU’RE IN THE NHL! DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY GUYS TRY AND FAIL!? YOU’VE GOT AN EDGE, BUDDY!

There’s so much I want to say, but I’ll get to the stuff that really grinds my gears.

Stop hating on Carey Price. The kid is 21 years old, and I saw that Roy gesture coming. The crowd was getting on his back and it was like a soda can waiting to burst. If he doesn’t stick up for himself, who will?

Yeah, he let in his fair share of weak goals during the season but not one of the 4 goals on Wednesday night was his fault. And Saku said it best: “”This kid is going to win a Stanley Cup one day and hopefully I’ll be with him when that happens”.

Mike Komisarek is not a fighter, but at least he showed up. I still hate Lucic but all the people criticizing Komo for losing the fight don’t have a clue. He showed up and that’s what matters. Have we seen Komo’s last game in a Habs uniform? More to come on that…

It was good to see Glen Metropolit skate his hardest on every single shift he was on the ice for, even when we were trailing.

Best part of the game? Tom Kostpoulos having the word “Believe” on his stick. Sign him, Bob!

If Markov isn’t the most valuabe player n the NHL, I don’t know who is. After the sexy Russian went down, your Montreal Canadiens didn’t win one game.

Again, I had a feeling game 4 would be the hardest one for us. The team gave it their all and unrealistic expectations and injuries just took their toll.

I’m glad the team saluted the crowd at the end. I know it’s tradition, but the real fans are the ones who stayed on till the end. The bandwagoners left after the second. Booing a 21-22 year old player does nothing to his development, beleve it or not.

That’s the way the cookie crumbles. You win some, you lose some. And god knows the Boston Bruins were due one.

Oh yeah, one more thing: FUCK YOU, MICHAEL RYDER!
