Shit means poop in French
I’m sure most of you have heard or participated in the debate that’s been taking place all over the city about who the next coach should be. I’m also certain that most of you have heard what the guys on RDS have been saying in terms of how getting a francophone coach is vital. While I do agree that the coach speaking French would be a bonus and that him doing so shows respect to the people and the history of the club, he must first and foremost speak hockey.
The last two francophone coaches who won the Stanley Cup in Montreal (Jacques Demers and Jean Perron) both had a certain Patrick Roy in nets. And oh yeah, I’m sure some of you have also heard about Toe Blake, Dick Irvin and Scotty Bowman – coaches who combined for 16 of the team’s 24 Stanley Cups. And of them, only Bowman could speak French…and barely.
One last thing! This …
is a stop sign.
And the last guy that brought a cup to this city couldn’t read it.
