The day old habits came into play : Habs 1-5 Sabres
About 12 hours ago, Bob Gainey faced the media and said he trusted this team. I know what he means, but the money I would steal to have been in Gainey’s head at 10 PM last night. I’d trust this team too, if they played for 60 minuts.
After completely dominating the first 20 minutes, the team just went to sleep once again. What’s up with that?
Old habits die young. Is that how the expression goes? We give the blueline as easily as Chris Brown gives out beatings. Our forecheck, apart from the first period, was as ineffective as trying to mate with a unicorn.
Price wasn’t necessarily to blame, but his glove side is just too weak. Spacek’s goal and Roy’s first were both glove-side, and Price left ‘em wide open both times.
Best part of the game? Max Pacioretty skating a whole shift without his helmet - it looked liked 1965 out there.
Worst part of the game? No one sticking up for either Carey or Andrei or Kovy when they got destroyed. It’s sad.
Oh yeah, Maxim Afinogenov is an amazing skater, but he can’t score for his life. What happened to that guy? Send him to Philly to play with Briere.
And why is it that Carbonneau insists on playing Lapierre’s line on the powerplay when we’re chasing a game? It’s fucken puzzling. And not many things puzzle me, like, I’m a pretty knowledgable guy, but damn that shit confuses me.
It’s a bad day to be a Habs fan. I miss the days of good ol’ Alexandre Daigle.
