The day we did what we were supposed to do : Habs – Islanders

Hey, we beat a team we were supposed to beat.

That hasn’t happened too many times this year, so be thankful you ungrateful whiny little rug-muffins!

The top line is actually playing like they want a job next year, and that’s so reassuring to see.

Panthers lost last night – Everyone, get on your knees and thank the Thrashers for doing us a BEEEEG favor. “THANK YOU THRASHERS!”.

Best move of the Gainey #2 era? Letting Mandy Dandy out of Guy Caronneau’s basement. The guy is a solid veteran presence who rarely, and I mean rarely, fucks up. Breeze, we love you, but unless Komisarek decides to eat Josh Gorges out of rage, have a seat in the pressbox. You’re a reliable 6th Dman who’s served this club superbly during your tenure here, but I’d rather see Dandenault on D right now.

We haven’t dominated a team like we did on Thursday in a long time, and honestly, we should be beating teams like that soundly. The Islanders were also without Mark Streit and Kyle Okposo, anything but a resounding victory would have made Marilyn Monroe wake up.

Halak did well, but it wasn’t a test that would have troubled him much.

Let’s go kill some leaves.
