• - Craig “Cry me a River” Rivet has been named the new captain of the Buffalo Sabres. Man, talk about shortage of captain-material players. Has he like, played a game yet?

 

• - The unwary, moronic, retarded, voluptuous-in-all-the-wrong-places, libidinous, boneheaded lovely Sarah Palin, Republican candidate for the vice presidency of the greatest country in the world, will drop the ceremonnial puck at the Philadelphia Flyers’ season opener. So like…why? I understand the need for exposure and campaign marketing, but goddamn man, the whole hockey mom thing kind of gets old. Woman doesn’t even drive a mommy van.

 

• - Andrei “The Markonator” Markov is set to move from the left to right on the point during powerplays this season.

 

• - Some sections of the media are asking for the trade of Alex Kovalev while his value is still high. Crazy talk? I don’t know man! Crazier things have happened.

 

• - Toronto Star feature on Mikhail Grabovski. Grabovski will probably be the Leafs’ first-line center, and that’s kinda funny.
