Your Montreal Canadiens 6-1 Toronto ‘Mikhail Grabovski’ Leafs
Is that what we needed? To lose to an average Buffalo team to get our crap together? The powerplay was deadly, the defense played much better, the goaltending was good, and Halak will propose to his goalposts tonight in a special ceremony at the Calgary Stampede (made sense in my head).
You know what I love? When I’m watching a Habs game on television, and the commentator states that “you can’t give a team like Montreal that many opportunities, because they can and will bury the game right before your eyes”. It makes me feel all warm inside, ’cause it’s true.
Special mention goes to Guillaume Latendresse, Sergei Kostitsyn and Alex Tanguay. Tender just has to keep his stick on the ice and drive to the net, and Tanguay and Koivu will somehow find a way to get the puck to him. I’d like to see this line remain intact even when Yale comes back. Mr. Higgins can play with Sergei and Lang.
Why does S. Kostitsyn not shoot more often? With a shot like that, he should really pull the trigger as much as he can. Alex Tanguay is an extremely smart player, and Doug Jarvis is a genius to have him at the point on the powerplay. So far he’s fit in like a well-oiled latex glove.

Funny fact of the day: Don Cherry, after the game, commented on how ashamed Guy Carbonneau should be for sending out his top powerplay line in the 3rd period with the score already at 6-1. I’m sorry Don, did you watch the game? After the 2nd period, I could have fallen asleep. Montreal stopped playing after Tender’s goal, they almost didn’t want to embarass the Leafs any more.
Complaint of the day: Todd Bertuzzi should not be playing in this league. Did you see the elbow on, I think it was Rick Rypien, yesterday? There is no place for stuff like that in the NHL. At least give him another suspension. Fortunately Mr Bertuzzi, just like you, karma is also a bitch.
